Play

Although I consider most of my work to be play, some of the play can be hard work at times – but it's all good. I do enjoy the good things in life – I love to dance (latin, mostly), I can really get stuck in a good book, and I certainly enjoy good food, good company and a good laugh.

My interests are varied – I'm very health-conscious (hence, my Nutritional Therapy and Reiki training) and interested in the mysteries of life... My book case is bursting with books on nutrition, health, complementary and alternative medicine, the mind-body connection, and even some quantum physics. I get a lot of my books from Amazon – they’re great for new and used (cheap & cheerful) books, and they have a very extensive collection. My favourite thing about them is that you can look inside some books and read a few chapters, to see if it 'clicks' for you. A small selection of my favourite reads is on the right – just hover over them and details will be revealed. By all means, let me know your favourites!

Love it

miessence logoSpeaking of health-conscious... This is the logo for the lovely skincare products I use. I started using them shortly after I found out about all the hidden chemicals in our products, and ended up throwing most of my bathroom cabinet content in the bin! Please have a look on the site (just click on the logo) – there is a lot of very useful information on it, such as a list of toxic ingredients to avoid. I have been using them for five years now and haven’t looked back since. I'd love to hear what you think about them – and if you'd like any samples, feel free to ask!

Food for thought

In more detail, The Story of Cosmetics certainly shines a light on the manufacturing process of cosmetics and what is reallly in them… It's quite an eye-opener, and I don't think anyone could go on living the same way after seeing it. Same goes for The Story of Stuff, which is a good look behind the scenes of consumerism. Just click on the pictures below to watch them, and by all means share your thoughts.

Videos

On more of an uplifting note, the following are my main inspiration, each with a unique approach. David Hamilton speaks about the power of the mind in his entertaining and humorous way, and the introduction to Abraham just may trigger your curiosity about all that lies beyond our senses...

The following are 2 of my favourite Abraham videos – the feel-good factor is enormous! I enjoy watching them time and time again, I hope you will too.

Smile!

Last but certainly not least, I love YouTube for finding stuff that make me laugh. If ever you're feeling down, start from here and see what else you find – it always cheers me up. My current favourites are below – most of them have a whole range of videos. There are always more recommendations, so the possibilities are endless!
